Things that are Saving my Life Today

One of my favorite questions is this -

What is saving your life today?

I wanted to share with you the things that are saving me in this season, in the hopes that they can be a resource to you.

I'm moving my body with HOME - A 30-Day Yoga Journey by Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. This particular series is a perfect balance of ease and effort, and Adriene is warm, funny, and authentic. Sessions are usually around 20-30min. and very calming!! I've done her TRUE series twice, and you can find individual practices that address specific topics like vulnerability, lower back pain, or weight loss.

I'm taking time for gratitude, reflection, and planning my time. I use the Start Today Journal - but you can also learn the practice by listening to this podcast episode and use your own notebook. The STJ was developed by Rachel Hollis, and involves envisioning the next 10 years of your life. From that vision, you create the 10 goals you have to achieve that vision (written as if you've already achieved them), along with what you're going to do today to get you closer to that goal. On a daily basis you write 5 things you're grateful for, the 10 dreams, and the thing you're doing today to achieve a dream. I also use The Priority Planner she developed for Target - they're sold out at the moment, but will be available for pre-order again on Monday, 4/20/2020 with a launch date of early May.

I'm challenging myself by participating in the Next 90 Days Challenge, a totally FREE 13-week coaching program with weekly themed lessons, workouts, and other resources to help you come out on the other side of quarantine stronger - mentally, emotionally, & physically. I've given up added sugar/sweets for the length of the challenge, which is my vice!

I'm indulging with daily pleasures that don't break the bank, or have a negative impact on my health/well-being. I placed an order with Bones Coffee - if you use the code COFFEE4HEROES, you save 10% on your first order and they donate a bag per order to healthcare workers! They have incredible flavors like S'Morey Time and Cookies and Dreams (even in decaf, which is extremely hard to find) and you can make your own sample pack to try 5 of their unique flavors (roughly 50 cups of coffee) for ~$30. The coffee is small-batch roasted, vegan/keto-friendly, and you get it ground/whole/single serve.

On a weekly basis, I have impromptu and standing Zoom Happy Hours with friends & family - I also celebrated Easter that way, and FaceTimed into the 2nd birthday of my Nephew/Godson Sam. It's amazing to see the faces of the people you love on a consistent basis, especially when you're quarantined alone!

I'm giving back as much as possible with information-packed training sessions, one-on-one coaching, resume reviews, and live-webinars in partnership with great organizations like the UW Real Estate Club at the Univ. of Wisconsin and the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group (REAG). I can't change the state of the market, but I can empower people to be more effective, confident, and prepared in their careers and companies.

I'm also looking for beauty - whether while walking my dogs, or in old travel photos, and documenting it to share with others. Today I saw a variety of a bird of paradise that I had never seen before.

I'd love to hear from you - what's saving your life today?
