Job Searching?

Here are some of my favorite tips, tools, and resources for transitioning powerfully into your next career opportunity:

Goal Setting

  • Gain Clarity on your Goal/Values - what are your short-term (30, 60, 90 days) vs. long-term (1, 3, 5, 10 years) goals?

  • What are your top 5 core values? Explore the types of roles/companies that align with your goals & core values.

Polish your Resume

As a general rule, the most effective resumes:

  • Are cleanly formatted, easy to read, and simply templated

  • Use powerful verbs and tell a compelling narrative about your background

  • Contain measurable results and achievements, and the context to understand them

  • Are tailored to your experience, yet customized to align with the role you’re applying for

  • Reflect your unique voice and communication style, for consistency in the interview process

Here’s a great back-to-basics article to get you started, if you haven’t created a resume in awhile

Virtual Relationship Building (vs. Networking)

LinkedIn Best Practices

  • Why LinkedIn?

  • Focus on long-term relationship building – what is your intention?

  • Create/Revamp your profile then set goals for daily LinkedIn use – Ex. 5 likes/reactions, 2 connections, 2 comments, 1 post, 30 minutes

  • Diversify network – again, in the direction of your search!

  • Groups

    Hashtags

Following – If you don’t know/want to connect with someone but want to see their content – they will be notified if you follow them

  • Focus on connection – what do you have in common?
